• June Favorites…

June is always a whirlwind with school ending and the start of Summer! All of my favorites from the month either made my life easier, just made me happy or provided a great escape of entertainment away from the news cycle! Never Have I Ever – Netflix–  Oh my gosh is this show adorable! We binged this teen coming of age comedy-drama so quickly and were so sad when it ended! Don’t miss it! Living Proof Perfect Hair Day In Shower Styler – I have fully embraced my curly hair during this quarantine (and to be honest, the heatwave) and this product really makes it so much easier to keep…

  • Summer Fashion: One Piece Swimsuits

Okay! Sorry for the pause in posts, I needed a bit of a breather! Those 3+ months of Covid Quarantine really caught up with me and I just hit a wall! (I spoke about that here) It is officially Summer so let’s focus on some fun and relaxation! We are overdue here for a fashion post and swimsuits are a pivotal part of Summer fashion! Focusing on one pieces… I want something that is fashionable but still appropriate for chasing kids, building sand castles and jumping in the water! I just ordered #15 and am contemplating #4 , I have heard it is the BEST suit!    1. / 2.…

  • Week Twelve Coronavirus Hiatus & May Favorites… 2020

Week Twelve. Things are shifting. Now in this Phase One stage restaurants are offering outside dining, fitness studios are reopening as are stores slowly with restrictions in place. It feels hopeful… I think, as a family, we will continue to hibernate a little longer and dip our toes in the water with caution in the coming weeks. There is still so much unknown about the virus, particularly in children, and it seems that the information changes daily. That said, as the country was starting to reopen last week, there was a happening that is anything but hopeful. The death of a George Floyd. What happened to George Floyd and what…

  • The White Tee Shirt

Ah, the white tee shirt. Much like a pair of jeans (or denim cutoffs), it can be hard to find a good one. You don’t want it to be see-through, but also don’t want it to be too thick. Slightly slouchy, soft and definitely comfortable; that is what you want! I did a round up of a few white tees that I have and love and also ones that look like they would be great! I just ordered two new white tees from Everlane (#1) and am super impressed with the quality and the fit! I also love #2 from Lululemon. I don’t have this exact Gap tee (#5), but…

  • Easy Cotton Dresses

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I always consider this the kick off of Summer, although this looks quite different for us this year. This will be the first Memorial Day in a very long time I won’t be spending it in RI with family and friends. Bizarre and a real bummer! Regardless, we are still going to make it a fantastic low key weekend here. The kick off of Summer has me thinking more and more about my summer closet (and packing for the big trip to RI) and what I really want to be wearing on those hot Summer days. Cotton. I’ve become pickier about fabrics, and the Summer definitely…

  • Denim Cutoffs…

Finding the perfect denim cutoffs can be hard. Almost as hard as finding the right pair of jeans… maybe harder? Well, shorts weather is upon us! Especially with Memorial Day weekend here (can you believe that!)…  I have my favorite pair which is #1 on the list, but I rounded up a few more that look like they would be great too! Click on corresponding number to shop item!  1. / 2. / 3. / 4. / 5. / 6. / 7. / 8. / 9.   Please note: A Modern Housewife LLC has affiliate relationships with multiple brands. • Week Nine Coronavirus Hiatus: Warmer Weather At Home Fashion

Alright. Let’s be honest. Who thought this was going to last this long? And even when the Stay At Home orders are lifted, life isn’t going back to “normal”. Those gorgeous Spring dresses in my closet aren’t going out to dinner. That said, the weather is changing, and sometimes something as little as new pair of shorts can lift one’s spirit. Make you feel fresh. So as we head into Week Nine I don’t have any great words of wisdom (I ran out of those weeks ago) but I do have some fun new picks for warm weather casual at home fashion. (Say that five times fast). That means cotton,…

  • April Favorites… 2020

I know I say it all the time; “Where did the month go?”. But really… where did it go? April was one very long blur. I can not believe it’s already over. Lot’s of TV, movies & books  here… because what else have we done this month? I hope everyone is hanging in during their quarantine!     White + Warren Cashmere Sweatshirt – I bought this utterly soft sweater from my favorite local shop, Fred. It’s on sale in both spots! I LOVE it. Feels put together while still so comfortable.  Defending Jacob – Apple TV – This book was actually the first book I picked for book club…

  • Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2020

I am having a hard time keeping track of days for sure… is it Tuesday or Wednesday? And forget about actual day of the month! But I did just realize that Mother’s Day is less than two weeks away! Time to get on it! I have rounded up some great gift ideas for that wonderful Mom in your life… and Moms feel free to forward this on to those that love you!      Fiddle Leaf Plant – Love the idea of pretty plant that will have a more permanent spot rather than just flowers… but you can certainly do flowers too!  Ariel Gordon Necklace – I recently discovered this…

  • Week Four Coronavirus Hiatus: Cut Yourself Some Slack

Week four, that seems really unbelievable. I read a great NY Times article last week about relaxing on the “To-Do List”; easing up on the need to feel productive. I couldn’t agree more. We have enough pressure and stress on ourselves right now, do we REALLY need to have our house in perfect order too? Learn a new language (I laughed out loud)? Or learn how to make puff pastry from scratch?   If those things relax you then by all means become multilingual and clean out every last closet. Some days cleaning helps me, some days I just want to binge watch TV after we’ve completed our eLearning because…
