• Holiday Gift Guide #6- For the Home

Gifts for the home are always good around the holidays. It’s a fun time to spruce up around the house, and even better when it is something you maybe wouldn’t think to buy for yourself!     Ring Doorbell – We received this for Christmas last year and it really is awesome. I actually intercepted a package, chatted with the delivery man and had it delivered to my neighbors while I was at my kid’s sport practice! All from my phone! New Bedding – Such a good time to refresh your bedding right before the new year! Serena & Lily has such lovely bedding. Stephanie Sherman’s “An Oceans Roar” –…

  • FIELD + SUPPLY

Over Columbus weekend we ventured up to Kingston, New York to the FIELD + SUPPLY: A Modern Maker’s Craft Fair. I am trying to stay busy and we love finding new artists, designers and cool new things (obviously). This activity checked all the boxes. First, the Hutton Brickyard is a really fantastic venue. I could see this as an awesome spot for a wedding or even a blow out birthday party… they have “Glamping”!!! A band was playing in the background, there were lots of food offerings, craft beer and cocktails, fire pits and lively games of corn hole; it all created a festival atmosphere. There were a good amount…

  • Summer Hair Savior

Summer hair. Humidity, salt, sun, water, chlorine… all those ponytails. Summer can really do a number on your hair. My hair was like straw last week… all my usual products just were not cutting it. I went back to some brands I had used in the past and did a little research.  I finally found it, my “Summer Hair Savior”!  Bumble and Bumble’s Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil line, described as “a divine dose of moisture”, it truly is just that. I use the Shampoo, Conditioner and Oil pictured above. It stops humidity frizz in its tracks, allows me to have perfect beachy, wavy hair and it also helped with the perfect smooth blow…

  • Book List

I love to read. I find it to be the ultimate escape, more so than tv or movies. So, for me, a book needs to be a real page-turner. My mother has always told me life is too short to finish a book you aren’t enjoying. I gravitate to mystery and suspense novels. Gratefully, I have a wonderful book club that makes sure I also read some excellent, thought provoking fiction and non-fiction too! A few have asked if I have a book list, so it was time to compile one! Below find 16 of my recent favorites! Click on the book title to purchase! Commonwealth by Ann Patchett Little…

  • Food 52 Shop

Normally I am scanning through Food52.com for all the amazing recipes. Once in a while I will scroll through their shop section. It never fails to make me want to completely redo my entire kitchen, overhaul my cabinets and set a perfect tabletop for a midweek meal. It is such a well curated space, it is inspiring. With the next round of holidays coming up (Easter & Passover are the perfect time to bring out your best for family gatherings) I wanted to share a few items I have and love and what I currently have my eye on from Food52.com. Copper & Brass Louise Trays – These are just so…

  • Thrive Market Review

Who out there has tried Thrive Market yet? I swear I signed up for an account over a year ago and never ordered. Something about membership fees always gets me. Yes, it is like Costco, but I always hesitate. I did the same thing with Beachbody. I waited forever and we all know how that turned out. So, my advice to you is DO IT. Don’t wait like I did. I think it may just be the best online source out there for natural and organic products! My first box arrived this weekend and it was packed perfectly. Glass jars intact, delicate pasta noodles still perfectly whole in their box,…

  • Gluten Free Sugar Cookies (for cookie cutters)

Every Christmas my family made sugar cookies. We had about 50 different cookie cutters, we each had our favorites (mine the dachshund!), and loads of sugar decorations. To me Christmas and sugar cookies go hand in hand. Since discovering that I have an intolerance to gluten we have tried many different mixes and recipes so we can still have our Christmas tradition… none of them produced the same delicious cookie we all loved. I set out to find, create and perfect a Sugar Cookie that was gluten free. I tried a ton of different recipes and created this one as a result. It may have taken me to Valentine’s Day…

  • Backpacks. Yay or nay?

We’ve gone on an adventure of some sort every weekend with the kids and each time I’ve noticed just how annoying it is to carry a tote bag. You are chasing or carrying kids, it’s constantly slipping down your shoulder and, for the love of God, that bag is HEAVY! What’s my latest solution? A backpack – really??? At first I cringed at the thought..why not just totally geek out and get a fanny pack.  It seems though, that I have missed the boat because backpacks appear to be IN. I did a quick search online and there are some really stylish ones out there… and some really expensive ones,…
