  • Book List

I love to read. I find it to be the ultimate escape, more so than tv or movies. So, for me, a book needs to be a real page-turner. My mother has always told me life is too short to finish a book you aren’t enjoying. I gravitate to mystery and suspense novels. Gratefully, I have a wonderful book club that makes sure I also read some excellent, thought provoking fiction and non-fiction too! A few have asked if I have a book list, so it was time to compile one! Below find 16 of my recent favorites! Click on the book title to purchase! Commonwealth by Ann Patchett Little…

  • Food 52 Shop

Normally I am scanning through Food52.com for all the amazing recipes. Once in a while I will scroll through their shop section. It never fails to make me want to completely redo my entire kitchen, overhaul my cabinets and set a perfect tabletop for a midweek meal. It is such a well curated space, it is inspiring. With the next round of holidays coming up (Easter & Passover are the perfect time to bring out your best for family gatherings) I wanted to share a few items I have and love and what I currently have my eye on from Food52.com. Copper & Brass Louise Trays – These are just so…

  • Thrive Market Review

Who out there has tried Thrive Market yet? I swear I signed up for an account over a year ago and never ordered. Something about membership fees always gets me. Yes, it is like Costco, but I always hesitate. I did the same thing with Beachbody. I waited forever and we all know how that turned out. So, my advice to you is DO IT. Don’t wait like I did. I think it may just be the best online source out there for natural and organic products! My first box arrived this weekend and it was packed perfectly. Glass jars intact, delicate pasta noodles still perfectly whole in their box,…

  • Gluten Free Sugar Cookies (for cookie cutters)

Every Christmas my family made sugar cookies. We had about 50 different cookie cutters, we each had our favorites (mine the dachshund!), and loads of sugar decorations. To me Christmas and sugar cookies go hand in hand. Since discovering that I have an intolerance to gluten we have tried many different mixes and recipes so we can still have our Christmas tradition… none of them produced the same delicious cookie we all loved. I set out to find, create and perfect a Sugar Cookie that was gluten free. I tried a ton of different recipes and created this one as a result. It may have taken me to Valentine’s Day…

  • Backpacks. Yay or nay?

We’ve gone on an adventure of some sort every weekend with the kids and each time I’ve noticed just how annoying it is to carry a tote bag. You are chasing or carrying kids, it’s constantly slipping down your shoulder and, for the love of God, that bag is HEAVY! What’s my latest solution? A backpack – really??? At first I cringed at the thought..why not just totally geek out and get a fanny pack.  It seems though, that I have missed the boat because backpacks appear to be IN. I did a quick search online and there are some really stylish ones out there… and some really expensive ones,…

  • My Favorite Cookbooks…

Most asked question? Of me anyways… “What is your favorite cookbook?” That is a TOUGH question. I could never pick ONE favorite… I have a cookbook obsession. I have A LOT of cookbooks. Truthfully, I read them like I read novels. I am quite content to curl up on the couch with a cookbook and read. It could be a brand new purchase, one checked from the library or one I have had for years. I love them. I love thinking about the way ingredients work together and how to implement the different methods of cooking. Let’s not overlook the gorgeous photography and clever layouts in these books. Some…

  • Egg Salad with Persian Cucumbers & Everything But The Bagel Salt

Egg Salad with Persian Cucumbers & Everything But The Bagel Salt I created this one day when I was STARVING without lunch prepared, in a rush, a car full of groceries and with a sleeping kid in the car. I was able to make this in the time it took me to unload the groceries from the car! The star is my Everything But The Bagel Salt seasoning. The dill with the cucumber in the salad gives you a bit of a pickle taste that is perfect! The seasoning is just so good and so simple to make. Great for avocado toast, celery with cream cheese or deviled eggs! Ingredients:…

  • Resolutions?

I will be honest. New Year’s Eve is not my favorite “Holiday”. So much build up and pressure to have plans for the night and have all of these resolutions in order to have a bright and shiny new year. No thank you. I do LOVE new chapters, fresh beginnings, a reset. So I take it as that. A great time to refocus and turn in a little bit. I would much rather focus on ways I would like to be, things I would like to do and perhaps accomplish rather than setting perimeters and restrictions (No sugar! Workout every day! Eat more Kale!).  Know what I mean?  …
