Book List

I love to read. I find it to be the ultimate escape, more so than tv or movies. So, for me, a book needs to be a real page-turner. My mother has always told me life is too short to finish a book you aren’t enjoying.

I gravitate to mystery and suspense novels. Gratefully, I have a wonderful book club that makes sure I also read some excellent, thought provoking fiction and non-fiction too!

A few have asked if I have a book list, so it was time to compile one! Below find 16 of my recent favorites! Click on the book title to purchase!

Commonwealth by Ann Patchett

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng (also read her other and loved it but this one is SO good)

The Husband’s Secret by Laine Moriarty (All of hers are good, Big Little Lies is now an amazing Mini-Series on HBO in case you missed it!)

Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll (Also an HWS grad! Dark and gripping!)

It’s What I Do: A Photographer’s Life of Love and War by Lynsey Addario

Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart (I think this technically falls in the Young Adult category but I loved it!)

The Girl with a Clock for a Heart by Peter Swanson ( I am currently reading all of the books from this author, this one is my favorite so far!)

All is Not Forgotten – Wendy Walker

You Should Have Known – by Jean Hanff Korelitz

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt (Yes, it is long.  Yes, at times tedious. But well worth it in the end and it won the Pulitzer!)

The Burgess Boys by Elizabeth Strout (All her books are fantastic.)

The Woman in the Window – A.J. Finn

Defending Jacob by William Landay

The Lying Game by Ruth Ware ( I liked all her books! In a Dark, Dark Wood is also a page turner!)

A Spool of Blue Thread by Anne Tyler

Also… what I am reading next! Not all are currently out, but available for pre-order!
