• Primal Palate Rice & Chicken in the Instant Pot

I love Primal Palate Spice blends- gluten free, non GMO, Whole 30 approved, ORGANIC… the list goes on and on. They are such a great company and they really make it easy to pull a flavorful dinner together FAST. I have been playing around with their blends for a while now and have finally perfected Chicken and Rice in the Instant Pot.  The best part of this recipe is that you can use any of their blends and then adjust the vegetables and toppings to suit the flavor profile. A one pot wonder! My favorite is the Super Gyro that is used in this recipe… and wait, also the Adobo.…

  • My Famous Marinade

Famous! No, really. Well amongst my family and dinner guests, at least! Last week was my brother’s birthday. (You may have already seen this on Instagram) I decided I needed to make it a day that we celebrate him instead of getting bogged down in my own grief (and anger) so I made all his favorites for dinner. Grilled lamb chops with my “famous marinade” were ALWAYS his favorite and frequently requested. I make them every Easter. On the side we had his other favorites; roasted potatoes, a big green salad and homemade tzatziki… and let’s not forget the Texas “Sheath” Cake… because it is amazing! It was a wonderful…

  • What to make for dinner when you are exhausted…

Okay guys, final blog post for 2018! I figured I better make it a good one and what is better than 3 super easy, “barely a recipe” dinners? So here is the thing. I am tired. So very tired. No one really talks about the exhaustion that can come along with grief. I think the exhaustion is because grief is just all consuming, ever present and painful. There is space for nothing else. I have been doing my best to take cut myself some slack, keep expectations low and just focus on keeping my family moving along. I was so incredibly fortunate to have meals delivered by my friends every night for…

  • Basil – Spinach Pesto (dairy free)

Sooooo I have not been cooking all that much these past few weeks. We are trying to sift through some health stuff and our diet has been a bit restricted. Besides my current Low FODMAP Diet (oh how I miss shiitakes, cauliflower and YOGURT!!!) we have our child on an elimination diet. He has TERRIBLE eczema so we are trying to get to the root of it. An elimination diet is painful… for both parent and child! So when you have to be dairy free, egg free, gluten free, soy free, corn free, nightshade free, peanut free, pork free, beef free and citrus free it can be… well… tricky to…

  • Food 52 Shop

Normally I am scanning through Food52.com for all the amazing recipes. Once in a while I will scroll through their shop section. It never fails to make me want to completely redo my entire kitchen, overhaul my cabinets and set a perfect tabletop for a midweek meal. It is such a well curated space, it is inspiring. With the next round of holidays coming up (Easter & Passover are the perfect time to bring out your best for family gatherings) I wanted to share a few items I have and love and what I currently have my eye on from Food52.com. Copper & Brass Louise Trays – These are just so…

  • Thrive Market Review

Who out there has tried Thrive Market yet? I swear I signed up for an account over a year ago and never ordered. Something about membership fees always gets me. Yes, it is like Costco, but I always hesitate. I did the same thing with Beachbody. I waited forever and we all know how that turned out. So, my advice to you is DO IT. Don’t wait like I did. I think it may just be the best online source out there for natural and organic products! My first box arrived this weekend and it was packed perfectly. Glass jars intact, delicate pasta noodles still perfectly whole in their box,…

  • Everything But The Bagel Salt with Dill

Everything Bagel Salt. It is everywhere, no? It’s topping avocado toast, fried eggs, cream cheese on a bagel… I mean the possibilities are endless. So why not make it at home? Forget the fact that it is more economical in the long run, it makes for a great little hostess gift. This one here is a little different because I have added a little dill to it. Trust me,  it is amazing in my current egg salad obsession which you can find right here. I tried a version of Everything Bagel Salt with dill and knew I needed to recreate it at home! Everything But The Bagel Salt with Dill…

  • Egg Salad with Persian Cucumbers & Everything But The Bagel Salt

Egg Salad with Persian Cucumbers & Everything But The Bagel Salt I created this one day when I was STARVING without lunch prepared, in a rush, a car full of groceries and with a sleeping kid in the car. I was able to make this in the time it took me to unload the groceries from the car! The star is my Everything But The Bagel Salt seasoning. The dill with the cucumber in the salad gives you a bit of a pickle taste that is perfect! The seasoning is just so good and so simple to make. Great for avocado toast, celery with cream cheese or deviled eggs! Ingredients:…

  • Artichoke and Tahini Everything Sauce

Artichoke & Tahini Dressing/Sauce/Slather/Dip… “Everything Sauce” I’m not even sure what to call this creation. It spawned from a recipe from the new Food52 book Mighty Salads, I changed a few things (naturally) to suit my taste buds. What I got was an earthy, smokey, sweet & spicy jar of awesome. I toss it with roasted vegetables (broccoli and sweet potatoes being my favorite!), spread it on toast with avocado, stir into hot lentils/grains, thin with water to make it a salad dressing (think hearty greens like kale) or dip chips into it! The possibilities are endless! Artichoke and Tahini Everything Sauce 5 artichoke hearts (I used canned) 2 cloves…
