Bermuda: Travel Guide Update

We love Bermuda.

I have been traveling to Bermuda for vacations since I was a baby so it feels like home to me and I love that my kids now feel that way too.

I published a travel guide last year that has all the important information of where to eat, where to stay and of course what to do. I am happy to report I have some great additions to add to that list! (Read the original too!)

Matt and I went out for Valentine’s dinner to Barracuda Grill which I mentioned before… but I forgot just how good it is! Easily the best restaurant on the Island!

Before we went and grabbed drinks at a new (to me) drink spot called Yours Truly. It is tucked in in an alley with a hidden speak easy feel… you actually have to ring a door bell to be let in… if there is room! Dark paneled and cozy it is the perfect spot to grab a pre or after dinner drink. The menu was extensive and also included a “Bartender’s Choice” which I went for… just had to say what I was in the mood for- he nailed it! Matt got a flaming rum concoction called The Zombie… also amazing! Don’t miss this spot!

A new addition to Front Street in Hamilton is Bowl 61. A noodle/poke bowl bar that you can grab and go or stay and eat! We popped in on a rainy breezy day and opted for hot broth bowls- so good!

There is a new museum out at Dockyard, The Bermuda Transport Museum! It appears to have dozens of vintage cars and bikes along with  Bermuda’s transport history and the America’s Cup. Sadly, we ventured out and the museum was unexpectedly closed and we didn’t make it back later in the week. Looks like a great spot for kids and car lovers alike!

Two new shopping spots for you… and they are amazing!
Della Valle Sandals… Custom. Handmade. Sandals. Affable, Vincenzo Della Valle started making shoes in his native country, Italy, when he was nine! He will measure your feet and perfectly fit your high quality new sandals that you help design. Pick the color leather you love, heel height and style and go! Ready same day too! I went for two pairs because I could not choose… I will definitely go get another pair when I am back in Bermuda. So comfortable and such a cool experience! Prices start at $145 and vary with materials and heel height. Custom stamped monogram also available.

Next up, Atelier in it’s new space. First and foremost the store is beautiful… light and bright with a floating staircase in light wood with black iron trim connecting the two floors, I am ready to move in. The well curated collection of goods includes some of favorite labels of clothing (Sundry, Rebecca Taylor & Ulla Johnson…), beautiful delicate jewelry, beauty and party & paper goods and even my favorite Hu Kitchen chocolate bars! They also have darling exclusive custom Bermuda items that take a souvenir to the next level!
