• July Favorites…

My favorites this month pretty much revolve around the beach… and exercising. All things Summer. Some I have talked about before so they are old favorites but also some new finds… how had I never tried on Beyond Yoga before? Click on item name to shop!  1. Beyond Yoga Alloy Ombre Leggings – these literally yelled my name (as my sister in law proclaimed!) when I saw them and they are sooooo good and that metallic splatter detail is perfect. Uber flattering and ridiculously comfortable; also very breathable for these hot Summer work outs! 2. Beyond Yoga Alloy Ombre Double Back Bra – Okay, a little matchy matchy but I like…

  • Summer of the jumpsuit…

I have been loving jumpsuits since last Fall and I can safely say that they are officially the the easiest outfit of the Summer. Like with a dress, you can put together an outfit in no time; they are so simple to dress up or down. Unlike a dress, you can pretty much do anything in a jumpsuit… run after a small child, easily sit in the grass or the sand and most importantly (at least to me!) you can ride a bike in a jumpsuit! (Okay, maybe I would not ride a bike in #10, but it is my mode of summer transportation most nights!) Cropped, wide leg, prints,…

  • Packing for Spring Break!

Spring Break is almost here! Well for us in New England anyways! After what seemed to be a long (LONG) winter I am excited to take off for a few days and get a little Vitamin D! I have been giving my closet (well, house too) a major overhaul and I am finding so much of my clothing for warmer temps is the wrong size, out of style or just plain tired. I have been hunting for a few new things to add to my warm weather gear while I pack for Spring Break! I have added some work out gear (just in case, also good for that plane ride!),…

  • Cocktails: la vie en rose

I saw “A Star Is Born” for a second time this weekend and Matt finally got to see it…loved it. It may have even better the second time. Soundtrack is AMAZING by the way! We came up with a new cocktail this weekend and “la vie en rose” seemed like the perfect name for this deep rosey pink beverage. When I made The Darien Peach, I bought (or had my husband go to the store and buy) a bottle of Aperol… he made so much fun of me because the store owner teased him that he just wasted $30 and that bottle would never get used. Apparently the store owner…

  • Summer Hair Savior

Summer hair. Humidity, salt, sun, water, chlorine… all those ponytails. Summer can really do a number on your hair. My hair was like straw last week… all my usual products just were not cutting it. I went back to some brands I had used in the past and did a little research.  I finally found it, my “Summer Hair Savior”!  Bumble and Bumble’s Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil line, described as “a divine dose of moisture”, it truly is just that. I use the Shampoo, Conditioner and Oil pictured above. It stops humidity frizz in its tracks, allows me to have perfect beachy, wavy hair and it also helped with the perfect smooth blow…

  • Tomato “Cobb” (aka: Cold Tomato Soup)

It’s hot. The thought of turning on the oven, cooking, even grilling is really unappealing. The last days of summer are always filled with lazy lunches because you just can’t bother between the heat and the looming prospect of going back to the reality of the school year. This recipe is PERFECT for these lunches. It’s also perfect because tomatoes are SO very good right now and we have an abundance of them in the garden. I can’t take credit for This genius recipe. I found it in the Bartlett’s Ocean View Farm Cookbook years ago (another one of those awesome collective cookbooks) and tweaked it ever so slightly. Thank…
